Welcome to Roade Local History Society’s new website.
Our purpose is to collect, record, study, and protect documents, images, physical ephemera, and events from our past of a local historical significance. We collect these for the benefit of residents, the wider community and future generations. We cover the Village and Parish of Roade and surrounding areas of Northamptonshire.

Vivian Blyth receiving her BEM from the Lord-Lieutenant in a ceremony at County Hall, Northampton. British Empire Medals are awarded to local volunteers who make a real difference to their communities. Vivian has been a History Society Committee member for many years.

BEMs will also receive an invitation to a Royal Garden Party

We organise an Events programme consisting of a series of 8 talks a year normally held during the Winter, Spring and Autumn months. In the Summer we organise one or two Outings to local places of interest.

Our Projects programme is a process of research and study which normally culminates in a Talk, Exhibition or Publication.
We celebrate all our achievements during the year with a Members Lunch each January

This website is designed to share as much of our past, present and future activities as we can for all to enjoy. We hope this will encourage some of our visitors to join in one or more of our activities. Please CONTACT us if you would like to know more.
