A public ceremony unveiling the “Section Bender” will be held, close to its original position outside the old blacksmith’s shop. It was removed by members of Roade Local History Society before the Ashton Road estate was built and serves as a reminder of the large part Pianoforte Supplies Ltd. had in the growth of Roade for almost 100 years.
After WWII PSL, as it became known, was heavily involved in manufacturing component parts for the motor industry, at one time employing around 1800 people at its peak in the 1960s
